Sarti the cosmopolitan village.
The village of Sarti is located in the prefecture of Halkidiki, on the peninsula of Sithonia.
Founded after the Asia Minor catastrophe of refugees living in a small island, the Ofioua (Afisia) located in the Marmara Sea.
First station refugees were Lavrion. Soon, however, informed by the Greek State in Halkidiki that there is a place with abundant fishing and croplands and thus settled from 1923 to 1925 in this geographic area. The current name of the village (Sarti) comes, according to historical data from the King or Sartio Sarti who lived in this area and it was built in the place of a state, the Sartoupoli, which sank.
Sarti today has about 1000 inhabitants. During the summer, but because of heavy tourist traffic has rapidly increased reaching the 15,000 to 20,000 thousand.
It is a beautiful village with crystal clear waters and unique in terms of beauty bays and beaches, resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops.
The bulk of tourists gathers and celebrates fifteenth of August where is selebrating the village church.
